View 7 - Hops

Court Lodge Farm, owned by the Rogers family, grows about 12 hectares of hops. String is tied to the chestnut poles during early Spring to support the plants. Hops are perennial climbers and the shoots start appearing in April and usually reach the top of the poles by mid-Summer.
Foreign student workers are employed in the harvesting of the crop.
