View 4 - Royal Oak Cottage
Link to virtual tour introduction
There was originally a building on this site in the 16th Century. Later the house became a pub. It was an important venue for drinking, particularly in the late 1800s. In 1916, its licence was refused and the building deteriorated until the 1950s when a demolition order was issued. Royal Oak Cottage was then restored to the fine mock Tudor style it is today.
