Bridge

The varying depths of the river at and near Franks Bridge enables pupils to search for freshwater minibeasts and study the physical aspects of river movement. The findings can be compared with other sites such as Westminster Bridge or the meander. In March 2007 the Environment Agency altered the rivers depth and shape in several places between the meander and Franks Bridge as part of the Darent Enhancement programme. Their aim is to gradually improve this freshwater habitat for wildlife. Here children are investigating river life. |
