    M Introduce "Pond Web". Discuss front cover, predict content, read story. Discuss the distinction between fact and fiction. Compare with "Sebastian's Waddle". (TLW 13) Focus on the last page, ask children to re-write the page as a list with commas. Enlarge text to A3 ask children to replace full stops with commas to form a list. (SLW 4.) A)Use Animal Fact File either on-screen or printed out ( See Literacy Links) to write a non-chronological report, based on one animal. (TLW 21) B)Commas - Print out last page of story. Ask children to write list using commas as modelled in sentence level work. Extension - compose own list, e.g. shopping list. (SLW 4) C) Commas D)Handwriting activity - to practice and reinforce four basic joins - eg. "wh" linked to questioning words. (WLW 12) E)Handwriting activity Share lists and discuss the need to change capital letters to lower case when using commas. (Groups B)
    Tu Re-read text, model and encourage children to use expression appropriate to punctuation, with particular attention to questions in text. (SLW 1) Use enlarged text from book, ask children to highlight key words. Use these to build a class topic word. (WLW 9 &TLW 19) E As above - each group to focus on a different animal.
