Dear Sebastian Swan,
We really enjoyed reading your story and we are glad that you found your cygnet! We found out lots about baby animals from reading the emails from other schools. We laughed when we found out that a baby platypus is called a 'puggle'. Together, using the internet, we found out lots of new ones.
Here are some from our list.
Hare -------- Leveret
Fish ......... Fry
Eagle ........ Eaglet
Human ....... baby then infant then toddler
Spider ......... Spiderling

We remembered that a baby cat is called a kitten, a baby sheep is called a lamb, a baby cow is called a calf, a baby horse is called a foal, a baby dog is called a puppy and a baby frog is called a tadpole. Today we read The Lost Cygnet. We have been learning about animals and where they live. We learned that a baby wild boar is called a piglet and the baby deer is called a fawn. This site was really fun and we wanted to thank you for sharing it with us.
