We know it's Autumn here in Cornwall beacuse of the things we can see and hear and feel and taste and smell.
Grace said " I know it's autumn because I can see the trees that have no leaves."
Zante said " I know it's autumn because the corn has turned yellow."
Harvey said " I know it's autumn because my mum dug up the potatoes in my garden."
Ciara said " I know it's autumn because I can see lots of blackberries in the hedgerow. My nanny makes blackberry pie and I like it."
George said " I know it's autumn because I can see lots of leaves falling off the trees and they are brown and crunchy."
Jago said "I know it's autumn because I saw a pumpin growing and blackberries too."
Sky said " I know it's autumn because we bought a pumpkin and we made pupmkin pie."
Ella said " I know it's autumn because I saw a squirrel and he was collecting nuts." We have seen lots of signs of autumn. We are looking forward to reading more of your stories.

Hi sebastian:
We went on a detective seasonal walk. We saw lots of leaves had fallen from the trees and they were a different colour. we drew some leaves and trees. Our class topic is seasons. we have a lavendar tree and we smelt the lavendar. It was a windy day and so the branches on the trees were shaking.we pretended to be detectives and look for clues for autumn. We really enjoyed our seasonal walk and used our senses to explore the area.

In the Autumn, the red and yellow leaves gently flutter down form the trees like beautiful butterflies. Sleepy hedgehogs make their comfortable beds with the fallen leaves. Now the bare trees look twisty, spooky and angry against the dark grey sky.We saw a birds nest high up in the tree tops that we had not been able to see before. Nuts and bright berries ripen and are picked by hungry animals to store over the winter. Droopy flowers are slowly dying. The rain pours down outside and deep down in the ground, earthworms digest the leaves. We all like the Autumn because it is colourful and beautiful.

Dear Sebastian, We read your book about the Autumn. We went out to look at the Autumn leaves in our playground and on the grass. Some of the leaves were still green but some were falling down from the trees. This was because the tree was sucking all the energy out of the leaves to store in the trunk and the branches. The leaves turned brown, yellow, orange and red. We made leaf pictures and took some photos! Love from Group 3H
